Does anyone know how to get the Motherboard specs? How many memory slots? How many used? Is there an extra NVMe slot?

It's crazy how this is fairly similar to last year's Walmart Black Friday MSI Codex R (i5-13400F, RTX 4060 8GB, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD) for $699, except slightly better processor. I guess it's proof that you can't expect prices to drop that much in a one year period.

The Black Friday price is actually crazy. A gaming PC with an SSD and a decent GPU for this cheap? I didn’t think I’d find something like this under my budget.

My only hesitation was the cooling system, but after reading reviews, it seems fine unless you’re running max settings 24/7. I mean, for this price, upgrading the cooling later wouldn’t hurt anyway..

iBUYPOWER Slate 6 Desktop: Should You Buy It? A Decision-Making Guide

Highlights and Advantages

  • Powerful processor and graphics card combination for smooth gaming and multitasking.
  • Solid state drive (SSD) ensures fast boot times and application loading.
  • Compact and stylish design suitable for various setups.

Similars

  • CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme: Often offers slightly better cooling solutions for more demanding tasks.
  • HP Omen 30L: Typically includes more upgrade options and potentially better build quality.
  • Dell Alienware Aurora R15: Known for its robust and customizable configurations and superior aesthetics.

What You Need to Know Before Buying

Before purchasing a desktop PC like the iBUYPOWER Slate 6, consider the following technical aspects:

  • Compatibility: Ensure your peripherals (monitor, keyboard, mouse) are compatible. Check connector types (HDMI, DisplayPort, USB).
  • Connectivity: Assess your internet needs – consider wired Ethernet connections for better stability if available.
  • Future-proofing: Think about your long-term needs. How upgradable is the system? Consider the RAM and storage expansion possibilities.
  • Power Supply: Check the wattage of the power supply. It should be sufficient for current and potential future upgrades.

Extra Tips

  1. Read online reviews from various sources to get a well-rounded perspective.
  2. Compare the specifications with your specific needs and budget (even though price isn't discussed here, budget is still important to keep in mind).
  3. Check the manufacturer's warranty and return policy.
  4. Consider the size and weight of the desktop to ensure it fits your workspace.
  5. If possible, visit a physical store to see the product in person if you feel this is helpful for making your decision.
