In for 1 for my gf, thx
Every time I buy a mechanical keyboard, I tell myself it’s my last one… then I see another sale.
It’s good, but if you want better switches, I’d go with a Keychron or a SteelSeries Apex Pro. Logitech software can be kinda buggy too.

Logitech G713 TKL Wired Mechanical Gaming Keyboard: Should You Buy It?
Highlights and Advantages:
- Compact tenkeyless design saves desk space while maintaining essential functionality.
- Satisfying GX Blue mechanical switches provide tactile feedback and audible clicks.
- Vibrant LIGHTSYNC RGB lighting offers extensive customization options.
Similars:
- Razer Huntsman Mini: Offers a faster actuation speed than the G713, ideal for competitive gaming.
- SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL: Provides a more budget-friendly option with quieter membrane switches.
- Glorious GMMK Pro: Allows for hot-swappable switches, offering greater customization and upgrade potential.
What You Need to Know Before Buying:
Before purchasing a mechanical keyboard, consider the following:
- Switch Type: Different switches offer varying levels of actuation force, feedback, and noise. Research different switch types (linear, tactile, clicky) to find the best fit for your preferences. The G713 uses GX Blue (clicky) switches, which might be too loud for some environments.
- Keycap Profile: Consider the keycap profile (e.g., Cherry profile, OEM profile) as it affects typing feel and ergonomics. The G713's keycap profile might not suit all users.
- Software Compatibility: Ensure the keyboard's software (Logitech G HUB) is compatible with your operating system and that you're comfortable with its features. Some users find specific software interfaces less intuitive.
Extra Tips:
- Read user reviews from various sources to get a broader perspective on the keyboard's performance and reliability.
- Check for compatibility with your preferred games and applications.
- Consider whether the included palm rest is comfortable for your hand size and typing style. You might find aftermarket options better suited to you.
- Think about the overall aesthetic. Does the keyboard design and RGB lighting complement your setup?
- If possible, try the keyboard in person before purchasing to assess the feel and sound of the switches.
