Using this with a 7800X3D, and it’s been rock solid. BIOS was easy to update, and EXPO for my DDR5 RAM worked fine. VRMs are decent, though not the best for extreme overclocking. For the price, it’s a great X670E option.

How’s the wifi performance? I’ve seen mixed reviews on msi’s onboard wifi

  • If you’re going all out with a 7950X or heavy overclocking, you might want to look at the ASUS ROG Crosshair or Gigabyte AORUS Master. Better power delivery, but $$$$$$

WiFi 6E is solid so far, no dropouts or issues. But if you’re serious about networking, a wired connection is always better.

Got it, thanks! Trying to decide between this and the ASUS TUF X670E.

  • Offers robust power delivery for high-end processors and overclocking capabilities.
  • Features integrated Wi-Fi 6E for fast and reliable wireless connectivity.

  • ASRock X670E PG Riptide: Offers better out-of-the-box performance for certain configurations.

What You Need to Know Before Buying

Before purchasing an X670E motherboard, you need to consider several technical aspects:

  • CPU Compatibility: Ensure your chosen CPU is compatible with the X670E chipset and the motherboard's socket type (AM5). Check the MSI website for a verified compatibility list.
  • Memory Compatibility: Verify the motherboard supports your desired RAM speed and type (DDR5). Refer to the MSI specifications for supported RAM configurations.
  • Case Compatibility: Measure your PC case to ensure the motherboard's form factor (ATX) fits and there's sufficient clearance for components and airflow.
  • Expansion Slots: Consider how many PCIe 5.0 slots you need for your current and future expansion cards (GPUs, SSDs).
  • BIOS Update: Some motherboards might need a BIOS update to fully support the latest Ryzen 7000 series processors.

Extra Tips

  1. Check user reviews on reputable websites to get real-world insights on performance and reliability.
  2. Compare detailed specifications of similar motherboards to find the best fit for your needs and budget (even though budget is not a focus here).
  3. Consider your future upgrade plans; a more robust motherboard may prove beneficial for long-term upgrades.
  4. Ensure the motherboard has the connectivity options (USB ports, etc.) you require.
  5. Research the motherboard's support community and the manufacturer's warranty.
