its solid man. screen is huge and the flip thing is clutch for lectures. i do wish it had more RAM tho, 8GB feels kinda tight if u got 10 tabs open plus word + zoom. battery's been decent but not crazy good

ASUS Vivobook S 16 Flip: Should You Buy It?

Highlights and Advantages

  • Sleek and versatile 2-in-1 design with a large 16-inch touchscreen.
  • Powerful Intel Core i5-1335U processor for smooth multitasking.
  • Ample storage with a 512GB SSD for fast boot times and application loading.

Similars

  • Acer Aspire 5: Often offers a slightly longer battery life.
  • Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5: May have a brighter display depending on the configuration.
  • HP Envy x360: Sometimes includes a more advanced stylus pen in the box.

What You Need to Know Before Buying

Before purchasing a 2-in-1 laptop like the ASUS Vivobook S 16 Flip, consider the following technical aspects:

  • Screen size and resolution: A 16-inch screen is large, ensure it fits your workspace and that the resolution meets your needs (check the specific resolution offered by the model you're considering).
  • RAM and storage: 8GB of RAM might be sufficient for basic tasks, but consider if you need more for demanding applications. 512GB of SSD storage is a good starting point, evaluate your storage needs for files and applications.
  • Processor and integrated graphics: The Intel Core i5-1335U is a good processor for everyday use. However, if you require significant graphics processing power (e.g., for gaming or video editing), you may need a laptop with a dedicated graphics card. Check the specific graphics capabilities of the model you're considering.
  • Operating System: Confirm you are comfortable with Windows 11.
  • Connectivity: Check for the available ports (USB-A, USB-C, HDMI, etc.) to ensure compatibility with your peripherals.

Extra Tips

  1. Read professional reviews from reputable tech websites to get a broader perspective.
  2. Check the warranty offered by the manufacturer and retailer.
  3. Consider the weight and portability of the laptop, especially if you plan on using it on the go frequently.
  4. Compare the battery life claims with real-world user reviews.
  5. If possible, try the laptop in person at a store to assess its comfort and usability.
