How are the switches? Are they smooth or do they feel scratchy? I’m pretty picky about that.

The switches are surprisingly smooth! I went with the gateron reds, and they’re great for both typing and gaming. Definitely not scratchy at all.

How does it compare to other compact keyboards like the keychron K2 or the royal kludge RK84?

I’d say it holds its own. The build quality is similar to the K2, but the lighting on the gamakay is more vibrant. It’s also a bit cheaper than the K2, so if RGB’s a big deal for you, it’s worth considering.

    Nice! And is it hot-swappable?

Yep, it’s hot-swappable! Makes it super easy to switch out switches if you ever want to try something new.
