controls are clunky but it’s part of the charm, you fight the monsters and the movement system
finished it last night, story made no sense, i loved it
10/10 would get chased by hospital ghouls again
this game had me saving every 5 mins, ran outta ammo and fought a dude with a wrench - felt like 2002 in the best way

yo same, wasn’t even scared of the monsters, just the camera angles, corner turns got me stressin
they really said “you want puzzles?” and then dropped me in a room with 4 switches and zero hints
i solved it by accident and still don’t know how

Tormented Souls (Xbox) - Should You Buy?
Highlights and Advantages
- A chilling blend of classic survival horror and modern gameplay mechanics.
- A compelling narrative with memorable characters and a creepy atmosphere.
- Intriguing puzzles and a satisfying sense of accomplishment upon solving them.
Similars
- Resident Evil 2 Remake: Offers more refined graphics and a larger scale experience compared to Tormented Souls' more intimate setting.
- Silent Hill 2: Provides a far deeper and more psychologically unsettling story, with a heavier emphasis on narrative over gameplay.
- Alone in the Dark (2021 Remake): Features a more modern 3D aesthetic, although Tormented Souls’ fixed camera angles might appeal to purists.
What You Need to Know Before Buying
Before purchasing Tormented Souls, or any survival horror game for that matter, consider the following:
- Tolerance for fixed camera angles: Tormented Souls uses this classic style, which can be jarring for players used to modern 3D camera controls. Ensure you enjoy this specific aesthetic before committing to the purchase.
- Puzzle complexity: The game features puzzles. If you don't enjoy challenging puzzles, consider whether the gameplay loop will still appeal.
- Gameplay style: The game favors atmosphere and storytelling over constant action. If you need a fast-paced, action-heavy experience, Tormented Souls might not be for you.
Extra Tips
- Watch some gameplay videos to see if the fixed camera angles and the overall aesthetic appeal to you.
- Read reviews to gauge the general consensus on the game's difficulty and puzzle design.
- Check if the game's story and atmosphere align with your preferences within the horror genre.
- Consider playing a shorter demo or trial if available to test the gameplay before purchasing.
- Explore forums and communities to get a feel for the player base and their experiences with the game.
