  • I'd have one if only it had a 10 key...

  • I believe there is a matching number pad from the same company. You can find it on Amazon.

  • They just announced they are releasing a version that includes a 10 key. But if you want this now they do sell a matching nubmerpad separately.

I really like mine, I'm typing on it now. Only complaint is the keys aren't backlit, hard to type in my password when I need to login first thing in the morning.

  • yeah but for 44 dollars. that is too much for keypad.

8Bitdo Retro Mechanical Keyboard N Edition: Should You Buy It?

Highlights and Advantages:

  • Classic retro design with satisfying mechanical key feel.
  • Compact and space-saving form factor, ideal for smaller desks.
  • Excellent compatibility across multiple operating systems and devices.

Similars:

  • Keychron K2: Offers hot-swappable switches, allowing for customization beyond what the 8Bitdo offers.
  • Anne Pro 2: Features Bluetooth 5.0 for improved connectivity and lower latency in wireless mode compared to the 8Bitdo.
  • Razer Huntsman Mini: Provides a significantly faster response time, especially beneficial for gaming.

What You Need to Know Before Buying:

Before purchasing a mechanical keyboard like the 8Bitdo Retro Mechanical Keyboard N Edition, consider the following:

  • Switch Type: Mechanical keyboards utilize different switch types (e.g., Cherry MX Brown, Blue, Red). Research switch types to determine which feel and sound profile best suits your typing style and preferences. The 8Bitdo's switch type should be clearly specified in the product description.
  • Key Layout: Ensure the keyboard layout (US, UK, etc.) matches your needs and expectations.
  • Connectivity: Check if the keyboard offers the connectivity options (wired, Bluetooth, 2.4GHz wireless) you require. Confirm compatibility with your operating systems and devices.
  • Software Support: Determine if the keyboard supports any customization software (key remapping, macro creation, etc.) and its compatibility with your operating system.

Extra Tips:

  1. Read user reviews from various sources to gather additional perspectives.
  2. Watch videos showcasing the keyboard's features and typing experience.
  3. Consider the keyboard's build quality and materials used.
  4. Check the warranty offered by the manufacturer or seller.
  5. Compare the keyboard's dimensions and weight to ensure it fits your workspace and preferences.
